Despite growing up with a passion for adventure and teaching, I could never have predicted the life ahead of me when I fell in love with a crazy-talented man who would one day start his own business.

After our honeymoon and a cross-country move, it wasn't long before talk of starting this exciting new venture began.  In 2007, two weeks before our first child was born, we took the leap and started a marketing company. Not the typical choice for a young family, I know. No solid income or stability, and yet with a newborn baby—and newborn company—on our hands, we were all in.

Fast-forward a decade—we have two amazing kids and a growing business. But this life is not a fairy tale; it's a roller coaster, with exciting highs and stomach-dropping lows. For me, the hardest part of being an entrepreneur wife Came when I felt I had to figure out how to survive it alone. My parents, friends, and church didn't understand the pressures, decisions and unpredictable schedule that I faced daily but rather asked more of me. This drove me to two key actions: First, deepen my faith in God. I discovered firsthand how peace amid the storm is possible when your faith and trust are in the Lord alone. Second, I became intentional about connecting with other entrepreneur wives who could understand, support, and teach me the ways of this crazy life.

It was through this life that I discovered my faith in God was pivotal. So, I invite you to check out the bible study section for more resources on faith as an Entrepreneur.

It’s not about surviving but thriving

I hope this site will become the mentor I never had when my husband and I started this journey more than a decade ago. This is the reason I started The Entrepreneur Wife.

This blog is a combination of stories, encouragement, and anecdotes about this crazy-but-worth-it life, with a focus on family, work, and faith life.

I want you to hear what embracing this journey looks like for you, on the good days and the bad; that's what this community is for. I look forward to connecting and hearing from you as a valued Entrepreneur Wife.

Welcome!

Meet Jen

Hi, I'm Jen! I grew up in a small town outside Toronto, but now call BC and the Pacific Northwest my home, where I currently live with my husband and two kids, Rylan and London. I am a teacher professionally but switched from high school math to the bible, a pretty great switch, right? I have discovered a love for teaching the bible to women like myself. Being able to do what you are passionate about makes all the difference. Teaching on my schedule has been pivotal to this life's need for flexibility. I also love adventure and craved the ability to accompany my husband on business trips to exciting new places. My faith is what defines my life in every way; my sense of self, passion for this life, vision for the future and what brings a joy that is beyond.

I have two basic needs each morning, Jesus and exercise, and ideally in that order as well. I have always loved being healthy and active; the beach on a warm summer's day is my happy place! I love to cook and bake, but I have a strong dislike for dishes. Thank goodness for dishwashers, kids and a great husband! Finally, I love walks and coffee with friends; though I am now a decaf girl, I still love the whole experience. As you read my blogs, you will get to know me better, and I'm excited to get to know you too!
